“ We stopped by Damascena Coffee House for breakfast before my train, and it was the perfect way to end my trip. The atmosphere was warm and homely — so calming and welcoming. We had the shakshuka and ijjeh omelette, along with a chai latte and karak chai — everything was absolutely delicious. Hamza’s service was amazing and added such a lovely touch to the whole experience. I left feeling full, comforted, and grateful. Can’t recommend it enough. ”

“ My partner and I have visited Damascena a number of times, even their Harborne branch. We’ve loved it from the first time we visited, such a wonderful selection of drinks and food, and all of what we’ve tried we’ve been really impressed with on the whole. In particular, their coffee, (flat white and Americano are wonderful) we have also loved the mint tea, cardamom tea and the saffron latte! Their desserts have been enjoyable too, my favourite however, is the Knafe brownie. The pistachio cheesecake didn’t have a distinct pistachio flavour which was a little disappointing. The savoury options are really well priced, and you receive great portions! The Harira soup had a wonderful depth to it and their flatbread options with mince meat are always a yummy lighter option! We’ll be leaving the Birmingham area soon and we’re sad that we can’t find it in other cities. It’s been a great place to spend time together in the city, with wonderful decor that made it feel like an escape from the city, thank you. ”

“ I had been to this coffee shop a while ago for lunch & liked it, but came again years later for breakfast now (it seems the menu spans both meals). The food is still lovely and our waiter Hamza was helpful - not too pushy when we needed longer with the menu, but still attentive enough to check up on us. The courtyard feel with the tree in the middle adds to the thoughtful atmosphere. The only thing is that the music can be a little loud (especially for early morning!) ”
